Former Ondo State House of Assembly member, Tomide Akinribido, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was made known in a letter he addressed to the party’s ward chairman.
Akinribido, who previously represented Ondo West constituency 1, offered no specific explanation for his departure, but expressed gratitude for the platform the PDP provided him.
Akinribido said, “Yesterday, Friday 9th of February 2024, I resigned my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
“I first joined the PDP in 2014, left in 2018 to contest a house of assembly seat under the Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) platform during the 2019 elections, and returned to the PDP in 2021 till yesterday.
“I appreciate the PDP for enabling me to use its platform to seek re-election during the 2023 elections, and establish cherished friendships that remains enduring across the nation”
The letter to the party, however, read: “I write to inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) effective today, February 9th, 2024.
“By notice of this letter, my membership of the PDP terminates immediately. Kindly accept the assurance.”
