A former caretaker chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State, Yetunde Dada is dead.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Mrs. Dada, a strong member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) died on Tuesday in a ghastly car accident on Lokoja-Abuja road, enroute to the nation’s capital. Six other persons also passed away in the auto crash.

Reacting to the sad news, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), the 2019 Ondo state PDP gubernatorial aspirant wrote on his known Twitter handle on Wednesday: “An exit too soon and sudden

“The news of the shocking demise of Yetunde Dada which occurred yesterday in a ghastly automobile accident along Lokoja-Abuja Highway filtered-in while on a PDP campaign train to Akure North with great disbelief.

“A distinguished daughter of Ile-Oluji and worthy citizen of Ondo State. A member of the State Working Committee of our great Party, the PDP, and a chieftain of the Party in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, where she once served distinctively as Council Chairperson.

“Indeed a star has fallen, a gem has dropped and an amazon has vacated the stage. For all she represented and stood for, especially to her husband and children, to her family, friends, associates and the PDP, this is tragic, sad and shocking.

“But we take solace in God and the life she lived. I pray God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the painful loss of this irreplaceable amazon. Adieu.”

Similarly, former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, paid tribute to late Dada via his verified Facebook page: “My heart goes out to the family of Hon. Yetunde Dada, a prominent daughter of Ile-Oluji and influential politician, who departed on Tuesday, 15th of February, 2022.

“She was a wonderful woman, strong in character and committed to the development of her community.

“I commiserate with her family, particularly her husband, children, the PDP family in Ondo State and the Jegun of Ile-Oluji, on this sad development. May the almighty grant her deserved rest.”
