Former Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan, paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, earlier today.
The visit was disclosed by former Special Assistant on Digital Communications to Buhari, Bashir Ahmed via social media platform, X.
Senator Lawan, who served as Senate President from 2019 to 2023, had previously contested for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022. His ambition reportedly had the backing of then-President Buhari, although the party ultimately chose Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its candidate.
Muhammadu Buhari, who ruled Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, remains an influential figure in the APC and Nigerian politics, especially in the north.
