The Imo State House of Assembly has suspended four of its lawmakers who are accused of plotting to impeach the Speaker, Chike Olemgbe.
The suspended lawmakers include Samuel Otuibe representing Ahiazu-Mbaise constituency, Henry Agbasonu representing Ezinihitte-Mbaise constituency, Chidiebere Ogbunikpa representing Okigwe constituency, and Dominic Ezerioha representing Oru-west constituency.
The decision to suspend the lawmakers was made on Tuesday during a plenary session, with the Speaker revealing that the decision was taken during an executive session.
According to Speaker Olemgbe, the committee assignments of the suspended members have been withdrawn, and minor adjustments have been made to the committees.
