The Caretaker Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, has appointed 100 Special Assistants.

The announcement was made public through a post on the chairman’s official social media handle on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect, and the new appointees are expected to work closely with the chairman to achieve his developmental goals, aligning with the vision of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Ihunwo congratulated the new appointees and charged them to be effective in their roles.

This development comes two weeks after the caretaker chairman of Ikwere Local Government Area, Darlington Orji, appointed 600 special assistants, senior special assistants, and executive assistants.

Ihunwo and Orji are among the 23 caretaker chairmen sworn in by the governor on June 19, 2023.
