The Government of Ghana has promised to reconstruct the building demolished inside the Nigerian High Commission compound in Accra.
In a statement on Thursday, Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, said the country will rebuild the structure as soon as possible.
The Minister revealed that the government of Ghana will issue the Nigerian High Commission a title deed for the land after reconstruction.
She condemned the armed men who stormed the compound last week and destroyed the building under construction.
Botchwey also disclosed that two people have been arrested over the incident, adding that the government was engaging Nigeria to calm tension between the two countries.
She, however, said Ghana was committed to ensuring the safety of members of the diplomatic corps.
