FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has expressed his displeasure over the existing infrastructural facilities at the Abuja University of Technology, Abaji.
Politics Nigeria understands that the university is still under construction.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ town hall meeting in Abaji on Friday, Wike described the university as a “glorified secondary school”.
Wike frowned at the architectural design of the university adding that it is unworthy of the image of the nation’s capital city.
The minister made the observation while reacting to an appeal for the completion of the university in September from the Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi.
Wike, however, said that the structures at the school were not up to the required standards and would be impossible for him to open the project in September this year.
While assuring the residents of his willingness to complete the university, the minister said he would invite the Mandate Secretary of Education Secretariat to “bring the master plan of the school for a review”.
