Gombe: NSCDC arrests 46 for defying order on closure of nightclubs

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe has arrested 46 suspects at local nightclubs, fondly called Gidan Gala.

Politics Nigeria learnt that the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, recently ordered the immediate closure of all nightclubs in the state due to complaints from the public and the alleged immorality and criminal activities in such clubs.

Meanwhile, the NSCDC state public relations officer Mu’azu Sa’as disclosed that the suspects, who were paraded on Tuesday, include 32 females and 14 males.

His words:

“The suspects were found wanting for perpetrating immoral and criminal acts in these Gidan Gala.

“The suspects were arrested at Sabon Gida BCGA, Jamiyar Gadan Gala at New Mile 6, while others were arrested at Gidan Wasa/Gidan Drama at New Mile 3, and others were arrested at Liji, along Kalshingi Road.”

He added that the command had communicated the development to some of the suspects’ parents.

Sa’as noted that the suspect would soon be arraigned in court.
