Gov Adeleke reveals how he plans to win re-election bid

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday said he is confident he will emerge victorious in the 2026 re-election bid.

The governor, who recently decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he would leverage divine support and the backing of the people of Osun State for his re-election.

Speaking during the New Year special interfaith prayer session held at the State Secretariat, Adeleke said his tenure as governor of Osun State has been filled with countless challenges.

According to the governor, having surmounted these challenges, he is confident that the 2026 Osun governorship election would be a walkover.

Adeleke’s words, “Our God has remained our sustainer, defender and protector. From the very beginning, He has fought our battles for us. Those who rise against us are confronted by a higher power.

“We are living proof that God rules in the affairs of men. Time and again, we have overcome challenges and emerged victorious. As God remains the same yesterday, today and forever, we shall continue to prevail and remain undefeated,” Adeleke said.

Also highlighting some of the achievements made by his administration, the governor said from his first day in office, he has prioritised the needs of the people of Osun State.

He said his administration was able to adopt initiatives that directly imaocts lives of the people through policies that are result-driven.

He said, “Under very difficult circumstances, we are addressing half-salary payments and pension backlogs which some claimed were impossible to resolve. We have ensured that Osun resources work for Osun people and created a more enabling environment for investors.”
