Gov Adeleke set to join Accord Party ahead of 2026 Osun governorship election

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun, is reportedly set to join Accord Party next week as the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepens.

The governor is said to have settled for Accord Party after the PDP officially split into two factions after ithe controversial convention in Ibadan.

The Nyesom Wike-led group quickly diassociated itself from the convention and instituted its own faction by electing its own leadership

Meanwhile, Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola on Tuesday won the PDP governorship ticket ahead of the 2026 election in the state.

Nine hundred and ninety delegates were expected, while 957 were accredited for the primary held at Adolak Event Centre in Osogbo under tight security.

Humphery Abba, chairman of the PDP primary committee, said the party received two nominations, adding that the submissions were from Adeleke and Adedamola.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the exercise as Abba declared Adedamola winner after collation.
