The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has explained how he plans to work with other arms that form his government.
Adeleke revealed that he would work with other arms of government and insisted that he would seek to maintain a cordial relationship with them.
Politics Nigeria gathered that the Governor made the promise while addressing the state’s lawmakers during the inauguration of the 8th House of Assembly on Tuesday, June 6.
Adewale Egbedun, a lawmaker representing Odo-Otin Constituency, emerged as the new Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, replacing Timothy Owoeye from the previous 7th Assembly.
Adeleke, in his address to the lawmakers, pointed out that the legislature is a critical symbol of democracy and insisted that because he was a former lawmaker, he was aware of how integral the legislative arm of government is, and he would maintain a good relationship with it and other components of government.
Adeleke tasked elected officials to be of service to the populace and let go of personal interests.
The Governor also seek the support of the 8th Assembly for the continuation of the good governance revolution that is evident in the state.
“That goal is only achievable with a supportive Assembly. The exercise of your power for the people and public good is my solicitation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the new Speaker, Egbedun, revealed that the Osun Assembly would work on all the bills passed into law and assented to by the immediate past parliament and executive, respectively, in the state.
