Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing Local Government elections in the state.
He made the comment while speaking to newsmen after casting his ballot at Unit 001, Kirshiga Ward, Madagali Local Government Area, in the state.
Governor Fintiri commended the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) for a well-organized election.
“I am grateful for the manner in which ADSIEC has organized this election,” Governor Fintiri said.
“The people of Adamawa are very happy, and there is high participation in all the wards and polling units visited. The high spirits are a delight to see, and new leaders will emerge from this process, and we give thanks to God.”
The governor also spoke about his expectations for governance after the election, promising greater participation by young people and women.
“The government belongs to the people, and my administration will continue to nurture youths into good leaders. This is my dream, and it will be delivered to the state.” He announced that by 2027, his administration will have produced vibrant leaders who can take over from him.
Voters at Kirshiga Ward, Mrs. Munagur Kulba and Mr. Bukar Joshua, also expressed satisfaction with the election process, urging winners to fulfil their campaign promises.
Eighteen political parties are participating in the election, while the All Progressive Congress (APC) opted out, citing ADSIEC’s failure to meet required guidelines.
