Governor Fintiri’s Relative Elected as Adamawa PDP Chairman

A relative of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has clinched the chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Hamza Madagali was declared the new chairman on Saturday after the PDP State Congress held at Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola.

The former Madagali Local Government chairman previously served as the state organising secretary of the party.

The congress ended with Madagali and other executives emerging without opposition. Party stakeholders had earlier reached a consensus deal that cleared the way for their election.

In his acceptance remarks, Madagali assured party members of an open-door leadership. “PDP will remain a true family where everyone will feel important,” he said.

Madagali’s victory strengthens the influence of Governor Fintiri within the state chapter of the PDP.

It can be recalled that in April, the PDP in Adamawa resolved internal disputes by adopting consensus candidates for vacant positions, prior to future elections.
