Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has terminated the contract to construct a five-kilometre road in Garko Local Government Area because the contractor failed to mobilise to the site.
This decision was revealed in a statement by Sanusi Tofa, the Director-General of Media and Publicity to the Governor, on Monday, September 2.
Governor Yusuf assured residents that a “new and reliable contractor will be appointed within the next few days” to ensure the project’s completion without further delays.
In addition to addressing the road project, Governor Yusuf announced plans to establish a modern health facility in Garko Town to bring essential healthcare services closer to the community.
The governor also inspected the Kafinchiri Irrigation Project, valued at N2.5 billion, emphasising its role in enhancing year-round farming and boosting food security.
He urged the local population to take full advantage of the project’s benefits to improve their socio-economic conditions.
Governor Yusuf expressed his gratitude for the continued support from the Garko community and reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustained progress in the region.
