Governorship elections: EFCC moves to end vote buying, deploys operatives to Bayelsa, Kogi, Imo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deployed its officers to Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo stayes to monitor the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 11.

EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development to journalists on Friday.

Oyewale noted that the mobilization was necessary in order to checkmate electoral fraud and associated financial crimes.

Oyewale added that monitoring team will also work to ensure credible elections across the three states.

“The commission’s monitoring operations are to tackle any form of voter’s inducement through vote buying, vote selling and other manipulation of the electoral processes at variance with the Electoral Act,” EFCC spokesperson said.
