‘Grow your own food’ – Remi Tinubu tells Nigerians amid hardship

The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has advised Nigerians to grow their food amid the nationwide food inflation and economic downturn.

According to Mrs Tinubu, the focus on agriculture is the way forward for the country.

In a statement issued by her special assistant on media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady said this at the State house while receiving the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed.

The First Lady noted that the various interventions of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) especially in the areas of Agriculture, Empowerment, Education, Health and Social Welfare are to complement the efforts of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“The President has made the right decisions. These decisions will help us build a Nigeria that is more respected. We should be more accountable as a people as regards our resources,” she said.

“We have to inspire them [Youths] to think Nigeria first before any State.

“Youth between 15 years to 25 years will design the fabric depicting Nigeria and not just their State or tribe. The prize money is huge.”

In her remarks during her visit, Mohammed explained that the UN is looking forward to the country committing more funds to Youth, Women and Girls.

She said: “We need your voice for what the UN is doing with women empowerment, girls, poverty alleviation, education and the rest.”
