The Chairman of the Akwanga Local Government Area, Safiyanu Isa Andaha, was on the night of January 1st, abducted by gunmen.
The incident occurred near Ningo village along the Andaha-Akwanga Road, leaving both the Chairman and a local resident in the hands of their captors.
The abduction was confirmed by Ramhan Nansel, the state Police Public Relations Officer. He assured the public that security personnel, including the police and other agencies, have been rapidly mobilised to track down the abductors and secure the release of the victims.
