Some gunmen have killed two Indians and two police inspectors in an attack on their convoy in Kogi State.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that two drivers of the expatriates of West Africa Ceramics Company Ajaokuta, Kogi, were also gunned down in the attack.
William Ovye-Aya, the spokesperson of the Kogi Police Command, made this disclosure on Saturday in a statement.
According to him, the six causalities, two expatriates, two company drivers and two police inspectors died in the exchange of fire with the hoodlums along Lokoja-Ajaokuta road around 9 pm on Friday.
Apart from those killed, 14 Indian nationals were also abducted.
This newspaper learned that the expatriates were being escorted by police to the Ceramic company when the gunmen attacked them.
The Kogi Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, has visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment.
In reaction to the attack, the Kogi state government said it is working with the security agencies to rescue all those that have been abducted.
In recent times, gunmen have been attacking communities in Kogi, leaving people of the state concerned.
