The leadership of the Nigerian Police has redeployed all the security aides of the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari for their involvement in the squabble that led to gunshots in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the security aides redeployed but whose new posts were not known were the Aide-De-Camp to Mrs Buhari, Usman Shugaba, escort commander, and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sheriff Kazeem, and four riot policemen.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Secretary, Sabiu Tunde Yusuf, has resumed work. The president’s nephew has ignored the advice to compulsory self-isolate after returning from Lagos recently to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
Recall that the First Lady had approached Yusuf to respect the COVID-19 guidelines, following his alleged refusal to go on self-isolation for 14 days.
Yusuf was reportedly assaulted by Mrs Buhari’s guard’s commander and had to escape to the apartment of Mamman Daura, the President’s powerful nephew.
It was gathered that Daura contacted the Inspector-General of Police to effect the arrest of Mrs Buhari’s security aides responsible for the attack on Yusuf.
But Mrs Buhari, unhappy with the move by the police authorities, had appealed the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, via Twitter to released her aides arrested in order to protect them from the COVID-19 Pandemic.
President Buhari has, however, ordered an investigation into the security breach at the State House, Abuja. In a statement on Sunday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, the president was not under any attack either from deadly infections or the reported incident at Aso Rock.
