First Lady, Aisha Buhari’s security aides would face a police panel that would be set up by the leadership of the force, POLITICS NIGERIA can report.
The security aides involved in the incident are Usman Shugaba, the Aide-de-Camp to the First Lady, the escort commander and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sheriff Kazeem, and four riot policemen.
It was learned that the shooting incident which involved the aides of the First lady and the President’s personal secretary, Tunde Sabiu Yusuf, will top the agenda of a police management team meeting which will happen today.
Also, this newspaper gathered that Mrs Buhari’s aides would be deployed to another assignment following their involvement in the incident last Thursday, at the Presidential Villa.
Recall that Mrs Buhari had appealed to the IG via Twitter to release her aides in order to protect them from the COVID-19 Pandemic. As at the time of filing this report, her aides are still in custody.
It was gathered that the First lady’s security aides had an altercation with the President’s personal secretary, who refused to self-isolate after returning from a trip to Lagos.
He was reportedly assaulted by Mrs Buhari’s guard’s commander and had to escape to the apartment of Mamman Daura, the President’s powerful nephew.
It was gathered that Mr. Daura contacted the Inspector-General of police to effect the arrest of Mrs Buhari’s security detail responsible for the attack on Yusuf.
