The Akwa Ibom State Government on Wednesday announced that all best-performing staff of various ministries and parastatals in the state would be receiving N1 million each.
A statement issued by the chairman the Organising Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah, said the cash gifts would be handed over to the awardees on Thursday during the state’s ARISE Happy Hour and Evening of Rewards.
The awardees, Uwah said were nominated during the last December’s ministerial briefings.
The briefing was planned to appreciate the awardees for their efforts, excellence and dedication to their duties.
According to Uwah, the ceremony will feature a performance by musician Flavour and will also recognise the best-performing local government areas from Christmas Unplugged 2024.
“The governor will honour and reward individuals and groups who have excelled in their respective fields, with a special focus on female youths, recognized as the state’s greatest cheerleaders in its support structure,” Uwah said.
Similarly, the state government would disburse N300 million to 400 female youths trained under the Ibom LED Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program.
Each of the ladies is expected to receive 750,000 while 50 winners of the Arise Home Farmers Scheme will be handed a N500,000 grant each.
There would be other categories of awards including award for the outstanding athletes from the 2024 Governor’s Cup.
