The leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned that President Bola Tinubu’s second term ambition would be truncated should the hardship experienced by Nigerians continue.
The cleric said if the president fails to address the mess which Nigeria has become, the 2027 presidential election will not be like it was in 2023 for him.
According to Ayodele, he had earlier warned Nigerians against voting for Tinubu in 2023.
He said, “If President Tinubu doesn’t address it now, this hardship will truncate his second term and mess up Nigeria. I had said that the votes for Tinubu will amount to hardship and I am saying if it is not eradicated, 2027 will not be the same thing.
Decrying the incessant increase in electricity tariff, and high cost of fuel and foodstuff, the cleric said citizens can no longer afford basic needs.
He warned that should the present administration continue increasing the prices of basic things like electricity, they would only end up creating more crises across the country.
“It is not at this time that electricity tariffs would be increased, or any other tariff should be enforced on the people. People can no longer afford things and even during this fasting period, things are so expensive and unaffordable. You can’t break your fast with N1,000.
“Let’s be truthful to the president, especially for those who are close to him, there is evident hardship everywhere. The situation is alarming,” he said.
