Unknown gunmen abducted a POS operator known as Biggy from his residence in Delta State on Friday.
The incident took place at 3 pm in the Egbo Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The victim’s friend narrowly escaped when the gunmen opened fire on him, with bullets piercing through the wall of the building as he fled.
At the time of this report, there has been no communication from either the victim or the abductors, causing tension among residents, indigenes, and business owners in the area.
Israel Joe, a Niger Delta human rights activist, condemned the increasing insecurity in the state, particularly highlighting the areas of Ughelli South, Egbo, Aragba, Otokutu, Uvwie, and Warri.
Joe urged security agencies to address the rising trend of kidnappings, questioning how such incidents could become a daily occurrence.
