Helicopter crash: Tinubu condoles NNPC over staff death

President Bola Tinubu has condoled the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Board over the death of its staff in the helicopter crash that occurred on the coast of Bonny Finima in Port-Harcourt.

The president in a condolence message consoled families and relatives of the NNPCL staff and crew members who died in the incident which happened on Thursday, October 24.

In the messages shared by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said, Tinubu expresses his “deepest sympathies” to the families of those lost.

The president also affirmed his solidarity with the grieving parties.

He said, “President Tinubu Commiserates with the NNPC Board and Families of Victims Onboard the Helicopter in Port-Harcourt.”

In addition, Tinubu ordered an intensification of search and rescue operations to locate any remaining passengers or evidence following the tragic incident.

The president also called for a comprehensive report while urging the military officers involved in various operations in the zone to join the rescue mission.

This, Tinubu said should be achieved with collaboration with the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, and other agencies crucial to recovery and investigation efforts.
