The Katsina Hisbah Board has announced the seizure and destruction of alcohol and illicit drugs valued at N60 million in Funtua Local Government Area of the state.
Aminu Usman, the Hisbah Commander in the state, revealed that the operation led to the confiscation of approximately 1,750 crates of alcohol and 33 jerry cans of locally brewed beer.
According to him, the action aligns with the Hisbah Board’s mandate to uphold moral standards within the state.
He praised the board’s officials for their commitment and urged them to maintain their dedication to their duties. Additionally, he appealed to religious leaders for support, stressing that the Hisbah Board operates independently of any specific group or sect.
Governor Dikko Radda was also commended for his support of the board’s efforts.
Usman called on the public to provide genuine information about locations where immoral activities occur, and encouraged parents, teachers, and community leaders to work together to instill discipline and good morals in the youth.
