Ebonyi Commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs resigns

The Commissioner for Inter-Government Affairs in Ebonyi State, Lazarus Ogbee, has tendered his resignation letter.

Politics Nigeria reports that Ogbee resigned his appointment with the state government on Thursday, and has since submitted his letter to the state governor, David Umahi.

Ogbee was a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Ikwo Ezza South Federal Constituency before he was sacked by an election tribunal.

According to Ogbee, his reason for resigning is personal, adding it has nothing to with the planned defection of the governor to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He disclosed that his official car and other government properties attached to his office will be duly handed over to the Secretary to the State Government with immediate effect.

He, however, thank Gov Umahi for giving him the opportunity to serve in his administration. Ogbee also appreciated the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and his colleagues for the cordial relationship he enjoyed while in office as a commissioner.

It was learned that  Ogbee’s resignation may not be unconnected to Governor David Umahi’s decision to dump the PDP for the APC.
