Hotel Demolition: “Tyranny” – Deji Adeyanju criticizes Wike

A political activist, Deji Adeyanju, has thrown weight behind the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, over the demolition of two hotels.

The hotels – Prodest Hotel and Etemeteh Hotel were demolished on Sunday by Mr Wike for allegedly defying Coronavirus lockdown order in the state.

The action of the governor generated controversies on social media with many Nigerians criticising Mr Wike. Despite the criticisms from a lot of Nigerians, Mr Adeyanju backed the controversial governor in a post on Twitter.

“The people who said Buhari could suspend the constitution to fight corruption are suddenly lecturing us about Rule of Law and tyranny.”

“Wike was handling the COVID-19 issue very well until he started his tyranny 2 days ago. Our criticism of his tyrannical acts should not stop him from doing his best to prevent the spread of the virus in the state.”
