
The lawmaker representing Orumba North/South federal constituency of Anambra State, Clara Nnabuife has defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP).
Nnabuife’s defection was announced on the floor of the plenary by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu on Thursday, March 27.
Reading a letter of Nnabuife’s defection, the Deputy Speaker said the lawmaker left the YPP for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
In her letter to the House, the lawmaker said she was dumping the YPP because she has severally been excluded from party activities without reasons.
She also stated that her decision to join APGA, the ruling party in Anambra State followed “extensive consultations” with members and leaders of her constituency.
