A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Reno Omokri, has reacted to the threat by the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami’s to declare a state of emergency in Anambra State, following the crisis in the zone.
“When our national security is attacked, and the sanctity of our constitutionally-guaranteed democracy is threatened, no possibility is ruled out,” Malami had said after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday.
The top government official stated that the Federal Government had resolved that the Anambra election 2021 will take place, adding that it will ensure the provision of security for the exercise.
According to Omokri, Malami’s planned decision might be “the spark that ignites what he can’t put out”.
“Abubakar Malami’s threat to declare a state of emergency in Anambra may very well be the spark that ignites what he can’t put out. How can you leave Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Zamfara and Niger (where Boko Haram controls 500 communities) and declare emergency in Anambra?” Omokri wrote via his known Twitter handle.
The Anambra State election is set for 6 November.
malami’s decision to declare state of emergency in anambra is a sign of hatred to eastern region. How can he be too aggressive to eastern region and be less talk and concern to the ongoing destroys and take over of some northern state by the so called Boko Haram and bandits. I think is time eastern region to wake up and be more wise.
