A renowned human rights activist, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), has formally notified the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, of planned public meetings, rallies, and processions organized by the Take It Back Movement and other patriotic Nigerians.
In a letter dated July 26, 2024, Adegboruwa, writing as solicitor to the Take It Back Movement, stated that the rallies will take place from August 1 to 10, 2024, at Eagle Square in Abuja and other public spaces in the capital cities of all 36 states and the headquarters of the 774 local government councils.
Adegboruwa reminded the police of its role in maintaining peace and order during such events. He urged the IGP to provide details of the police officers or teams assigned to cover the rallies, enabling the organizers to harmonize plans and strategies for a peaceful and successful event.
