A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday, August 22, adjourned the hearing in the motion filed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike on restricting participants of the hunger protest from demonstration in the city.
Justice Sylvanus Oriji adjourned the hearing on the matter until September 4, after Moses Ebute, the counsel to Wike informed the court that he served a motion on notice on the respondents in the matter,
While the counsel to the first and fourth respondents S.M Oyeghe did not oppose the submission by Wike’s counsel, he asked that the said motion be served on them in the court.
However, counsels of other respondents in the matter were not in court at today’s hearing.
The respondents in the suit are former presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, Damilare Adenola and Adama Ukpabi.
Others include Tosin Harsogba, persons unknown, Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Commissioner of Police for the FCT.
Following this, the judge over the matter ordered the minister’s counsel to serve all the respondents the motion on notice while he adjourned the matter.
