The hungry cabal Garba Shehu has chosen to rebrand

At a time when the once swiftly developing nation is reeling from the fall in the supply of electricity and an all time high unemployment rate, the issue of the existence of cabals is of interest to the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu.

Mrs Aisha Buhari, wife of president Muhammadu Buhari had chosen not to be led by persons she termed cabals in her husband’s administration.

This is as she has accused her husband of being a captive of these labourious personalities in the state house. In the build up to the 2019 general election which her husband won, she vowed not to campaign for his reelection if he fails to stop the cabals.

As Nigeria’s first lady, it is conventional for her to support her husband while keeping numb on matters her hubby has decided to.
The is unlike the loquacious woman, as even in the presence of the vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, she has not relented on giving new details of the activities of the behind-the -scene actors.

This was at a forum attended by key personalities in government including the country’s vice president, where she revealed that people who knew of the existence of these cabals always go behind the scene to seek favors from the same cabals.

In all these renditions, Aisha has disclosed no names and has always portrayed her husband governance as meeting objectives.

These ‘cabals aren’t hungry persons, they are respectable Nigerians

At a time when the once swiftly developing nation is reeling from the fall in the supply of electricity and an all time high unemployment rate, the issue of the existence of cabals is of interest to the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu.

Mr Shehu has been accused by Mrs Aisha Buhari on various occassions of receiving instructions from the cabal to the detriment of her husband and his immediate family. For his dishonesty towards the first family, Mrs Buhari has urged him to resign.

Garba Shehu on his part has refused to weigh in on these claims but has concerned himself with changing the viewpoint of which Nigerians see these cabals. Few days ago he had encouraged Nigerians to see the ‘cabals’ so labelled as advisers working for the progress of the country. He went on to enlighten that these actors behind the scenes are characteristics of every government, which other nationals do term kitchen cabinet.

On christmas, Mr Shehu further enlightened while featuring on channels tv that these people were respectable Nigerians. He said: “A lot of people who are being dragged into this cabal thing, they are respectable Nigerians who have achieved a lot for themselves and for the nation. They are not there as hungry people who are there to grab things for themselves.

He furthermore advised Nigerians to rescind in their negative way of naming people who have offered themselves to support the president of the country.

Not many would take the words of the SSA to heart as many have inquired to know how the Nigerian government that is supposed to be run by their elected representatives is being operated by cabals.

Meanwhile, the men said to be members of the cabal include the Chief of Staff to the president, Abba Kyaria; a relative of the president, Mamman Daura; and an associate of the president, Isa Funtua.
