Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has declared that he does not engage in political theatrics, unlike some politicians who, according to him, act like “Nollywood actors” once in government.
El-Rufai, who has recently been embroiled in a public exchange with members of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, made this remark while responding to a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The controversy began when El-Rufai criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for deviating from its core values, adding that he no longer recognizes the party.
His statement sparked reactions from the presidency, with presidential aide Daniel Bwala questioning whether El-Rufai would have made the same remarks if he were part of Tinubu’s cabinet.
Responding to Bwala, El-Rufai insisted that he would still criticize APC, even if he had been involved in the administration.
On Saturday, he took another swipe at politicians he believes engage in political theatrics. Reacting to a post by social media user @irahabib, who praised El-Rufai’s bluntness, the former governor wrote:
“Thanks for your kind words, @irahabib. Truly, I don’t know how to pretend. Being a Nollywood actor in governance is for some others, not some of us. Have a nice day.”
