The Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has disclosed that he will be quitting the political scene in 2023, adding that his future is in the hands of God.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Umahi said his decision to quit politics in 2023 was decided by God. He, however, said if God gives his permission to contest for the Presidency, he has no choice but to obey.
Umahi, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, denied the claim by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State that he was nursing the ambition of succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
The governor noted that the difference in political ideology between the PDP and the APC will be determined very soon by him and his supporters, saying that he has not studied the manifesto of the APC. He added that he needs time to study the political-ideological differences between the two parties.
