A woman and her baby have been rescued from one of the buildings affected by the explosion in Ibadan.
Politics Nigeria reports that many have been fear dead while over 70 survivors are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Ibadan after an explosion on Tuesday evening.
The explosion, which destroyed several houses and cars, also caused panic attacks among residents of the Bodija and Sango areas of Ibadan.
It was gathered that rescue operations commenced hours after the explosion.
In the early hours of Wednesday, officials of the State Emergency Management Agency rescued a woman and her child.
Similarly, an unidentified man was pulled out from the rubble.
Governor Seyi Makinde who was at the scene of the explosion blamed the incident on the activities of illegal miners who had stored explosives in a house in the area.
