Ikoyi building collapse: ‘Oniduro’ singer Alaseyori speaks amid rumours of death

Gospel singer, Adeyinka Alaseyori, on Wednesday gave an assurance that she is fine, and not among the victims of the high-rise building that collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos State on Monday.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that a video of Alaseyori’s visit to the collapsed Ikoyi building surfaced online, prompting many people to be worried about her safety.

At least 22 people have been killed after the 21-storey building under construction collapsed in Nigeria’s commercial capital Lagos, officials said, with dozens of others feared trapped inside.

A yellow excavator pushed away concrete slabs in the search for people in the rubble of the 21-floor building, which collapsed.

“I have seen a few tags on the video of my last visit to the collapsed Ikoyi building and some DM’s inquiring about my safety,” Alaseyori wrote on her verified Facebook page.

“Please note that the video is not recent and i wasn’t there at the time of the unfortunate incident.

“I can’t reply all the messages hence the need to make this post but i very well do appreciate your concerns.

“As the rescue team continues to make effort to save more lives, let’s pray along.
#ItIsWell.”

Rescue officials said many workers were caught inside the building when it crumbled though they could not confirm the number of people trapped. Witnesses say up to 100 people are missing.
