Anambra South lawmaker, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, has said that he will spend only one term if elected as governor of the state.
Politics Nigeria reports that Ubah recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Young Progressive Party (YPP).
The lawmaker has since indicated his interest to challenge the incumbent governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the polls in 2025.
Addressing journalists in Nnewi, Ubah promised to do a single term in office to complete the turn of the Anambra South Senatorial District in the spirit of the “existing zoning agreement” in the state.
Ubah expressed his readiness to be put on the path of economic growth and development within four years in office.
The senator expressed disappointment that the administration of Governor Soludo “has shown to be a disappointment”.
Ubah vowed to conduct local government elections in the state within four months if voted into office as the governor of the state, so as to spread development to all parts of the state simultaneously.
According to him, four years are enough for any focused governor to take the state to greater heights and make the people happy.
“Development under Governor Soludo has been very slow. The people’s expectations that the Professor of Economics would take them to the next level have been dashed as the only thing the present administration does is destruction of the people’s means of livelihood,” Uba said.
“My blueprints for the development of the state are innovative and none of my opponents can match them. If I become governor, Anambra State will be both commercial and health destination in the South-East in particular, and Nigeria in general.
“Anambra flag will be mounted in many capitals of the world to attract development to the state and our people in the diaspora will be motivated to come and invest at home”, he added.
