Imo State Govt Reacts to Uzodinma’s rumoured 2027 Vice Presidential Ambition

The Imo State government has denied reports that Governor Hope Uzodimma is eyeing the office of Vice President in 2027.

The government’s reaction comes amidst the circulation of posters on social media platforms suggesting Uzodimma’s interest in the position.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, the government described the reports as “laughable and preposterous.”

Emelumba said Governor Uzodimma has never contemplated running for the office of Vice President and is fully focused on discharging his second term mandate.

The commissioner accused mischief makers of circulating the false information, alleging that the opposition is attempting to create division between President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his supporters. He warned those behind the malicious campaign to cease their efforts to undermine the federal government and the government of Imo State.

Emelumba reiterated that Governor Uzodimma is a staunch supporter of President Tinubu and has been canvassing national support for him to succeed in his assignment. He urged the public to disregard any information suggesting Uzodimma’s Vice Presidential ambition, describing it as “fake, malicious, and spurious.”
