BREAKING: Why Biafra/Yoruba Nation won’t work – Abdulsalami Abubakar

Former Military leader, Abdulsalami Abubakar has said that the agitations for the break-up of Nigerian won’t work.

Abubakar, while speaking at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida(IBB) legacy Dialogue 2021, said that rather than agitating for separation, Nigerians should embrace their diversity and work towards maintaining unity.

“Even if you break Nigeria now, how are you going to do? When everybody, every Nigerian, anywhere you go in the village, you will find a Hausa man, a Yoruba man, an Igbo man, Itsekiri and so on and so forth,” he said.

“So, when you say you divide, where do you draw the line with the inter-marriages and so on and so forth? It is going to be difficult.”

“He advised Nigerians that all hands should be on deck to address the menace, calling on Nigerians to expose perpetrators of insecurity.”

“So, let us expose them to the authorities and let us put our hands on deck to tackle the security challenges,”.

Present at the event were former Senate President, Senator David Mark, Chairman, Daar Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ambassador George Obiozor, former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Professor Jerry Gana; former Governor of Niger State, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu amongst many others.

  1. This man is not serious he should first arrest fulani herders leaders so nigerians will know that they are ready , secondly they should carry , show all nigerians, tribes sence of belonging

  2. I had thought that these men are made of intellects, ain’t you seen codevirian, Ghanians married, Senegalese, Gambians, Malians intermarried and still different countries. Please park well,. You can see that Nigerian situation has no solution

  3. Your Exellency sir, if you really understand why Yoruba and Igbos are calling for separation, you should have known that the anxiety started right from June 12 when MKO Abiola won the presidential pole but your northerners guru refused to declared him.Let me ask you, your exellency sir:When did you entered into the office of the president?when did you released The late Are Onakakanfo from the prison??

  4. Northern Nigeria is not ready for restructuring, that is why south west is now calling for Yoruba nation and also south east.
Northern Nigeria should do the needful at the right time for the future of Nigeria. The earliest the best.
    Don’t underestimate any region.

  5. Even forming Oduduwa out of Southwest can’t work. Everyone will not want the likely domination of Oyo and the form of politics of Oyos is different from that of lagos, ogun and Ondo. Lots of differences that will lead to further and further breakdown. The same will apply in the north and east. So, as said, we should work together to break our challenges

  6. It’s obvious our past leaders are daft or they prefer to make comments that makes no sense, is Nigeria and Niger republic not two different countries yet all over Nigeria you find Niger people leaving, marrying and doing their businesses and there in Niger you will see Yoruba’s, Hausas and Igbos doing their businesses peacefully. So who says people of Arewa nation cannot leave, marry and do business in Oduduwa nation or Biafra nation visvisa. If being geographically, politically, economically etc apart will bring absolute peace then let it be. All the nations will face their early challenges with time they will seat up and move on. Enough of deception

  7. I’m sure the lord God has put it in the lips of Abdulsalami Abubakar to say a word like this. Please I pieced you all my fellow Nigeria to follow the word of advice that our leader has said.
