IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu brought to court in Handcuffs [PHOTOS]

The wanted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu was produced in court on Tuesday amidst tight security.

It was gathered that Kanu was extradited from the United Kingdom on the request of the Nigerian government. Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who disclosed this arrest on Tuesday, said Kanu is back in Nigeria to face his trial.

Speaking at a joint Press Briefing on Tuesday with the State Security Service (SSS) in Abuja, Malami said international collaborative efforts with security agencies led to Kanu’s arrest and repatriation to Nigeria.

Kanu and his co-defendant are facing treasonable felony charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Kanu fled the country in September 2017 after an invasion of his home by the military in Afara-Ukwu, near Umuahia, Abia State.
