Social media commentator, Reno Omokri, has criticised the Charles Soludo-led Anambra State Government over its silence as the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) enforced sit-at-home in Onitsha.
Recall that the ESN shut down markets while enforcing the sit-at-home order in Onitsha area of Anambra state on Friday.
The area was thrown into chaos as gunshots were heard while people ran for safety.
Politics Nigeria observed that the state government has been silent over the incident.
Reacting to the situation, Omokri wondered why the state government did not set up a high powered delegation like it did over the dispute surrounding Joint Administration and Matriculating be JAMB candidate, Mmesoma Ejikeme.
Omokri tweeted: “Today there were gunshots in Onitsha, the commercial capital of Anambra State.
“IPOB/ESN shut down markets in enforcement of a Friday sit-at-home to protest the sustained confinement of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of IPOB. Gunshots rented the air, forcing parents to rush to schools to evacuate their children.
“But the Anambra State Government has not reacted. No statement. No statewide broadcast. No update to calm the citizens.
“Yet, this is a state that felt a pressing need to set up a high powered committee to investigate Mmesoma Ejikeme’s JAMB result and give regular updates on that issue to the media.
Omokri ended by saying “Who in his right mind chases a rat when his house is on fire?”
