Justice Eberechi Suzzette Wike of the Court of Appeal and wife of Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), says it takes a strong woman to manage her husband.
She said this on the sidelines of a golf event held at the Nigeria Air Force Base, Goodluck Jonathan Golf Course, Abuja.
The event was organised by Monica Dongban-Mensem, president of the Court of Appeal, to mark the International Road Crash Victims Africa sports programme.
Wike said many Nigerians would be surprised to see her playing golf, but noted that it was not her first time on the course.
She said she attended the event to support Dongban-Mensem, whose NGO promotes road safety awareness following the loss of her son in a road crash in 2011.
She said she unwinds by watching television, especially the news, because keeping up with national events helps her stay prepared for issues that may arise in court.
Wike added that she also enjoys cooking, watching football, and swimming, noting that she played football in secondary school.
When asked what it takes to manage her husband, she replied: “It takes a strong woman to do so. I don’t want to go further than this.”
