The camp of former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to President Bola Tinubu’s fall at the Eagles Square venue of the 2024 Democracy Day celebration.
Atiku’s Special Advisor on Broadcast Media, Abdul Rasheeth, described the incident as a sign of divine displeasure.
He wrote on social media, “It’s a sign that God is angry with him.”
The reaction came after President Tinubu slipped while boarding the parade vehicle at the Eagles Square.
The President had just arrived at the venue when the incident occurred. His security details and aides quickly rushed to his aid, assisting him in regaining his balance.
Despite the incident, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, downplayed concerns, insisting that there are no issues with the President’s health. According to Dada, Tinubu simply missed his step.
Recall that Atiku, in the 2023 presidential election, suffered defeat to President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Additionally, his subsequent legal challenges to overturn the election results were dismissed by the tribunal and Supreme Court.
