Presidential Spokesperson/Social Media aide, Lauretta Onochie has criticized Resident Doctors for striking amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Mrs Onochie expressed unhappiness at the fact that the government was unable to reach an agreement on with the doctors.
“I think it’s wicked, callous and inhumane for Resident Doctors to decide to go on strike during a pandemic of the scale threatening to overwhelm the world.”
“It smells like an Evil blackmail.” She tweeted.
On Monday, Resident Doctors embarked on a nationwide strike to protest against the lack of protective equipment and allowances for doctors handling COVID-19 cases all over the country.
The association had given a two-week ultimatum to the Nigerian government prior to commencing the strike action.
