Jigawa Govt to Sanction Filling Stations Illegally Adjusting Their Pumps

Amidst the current fuel hike, the task force on petroleum products in jigawa state has expressed concerns over the attitude of some filling stations allegedly adjusting their pump to short-change customers.

During an inspection visit to some petrol stations in Dutse, the state capital, chairman of the task force, Colonel Muhammad Alhassan (Rtd), warned filling station engaged in such act to stop or face full wrath of the law.

Alhassan said the committee would not hesitate to take drastic measures against any filling station found to be tampering with its pump.

“Even though we have no control over prices, we have a stake in ensuring that petrol stations do not tamper with their pumps,” he said.

the chairman said the committee has identified some filling stations that are in the habit of readjusting their pumps.

He noted that the inspection exercise would be extended to all the nooks and crannies of the state.
