Jos Killings: ‘Stop posting ugly images’ – Ex-lawmaker to youths

Sale Hassan, a former member of the House of Representatives, has advised youths against posting inciting pictures and videos on the Jos killings on social media ‘so as not to ignite tension’.

Hassan, who represented Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency in the 5th Republic, made the appeal in a statement on Monday, in Jos.

“I plead with rumour peddlers and youths posting ugly images or writing inciting statements on the social media to desist in the interest of peace.

“Such posts are capable of igniting tension that would plunge the state into more problems”, he said.

Hassan, who is an Adviser to the Speaker, of House of Representatives on Sustainable Development Goals, condemned in strong terms the unfortunate incident that occurred in Jos, on Saturday where 22 commuters were killed.

He expressed sadness over the ugly incident which was capable of worsening the volatile security situation in Plateau in particular and Nigeria in general.

The former lawmaker urged security and non-conventional security agencies to do their best to apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to justice, to serve as a deterrent.

He sympathised with those that lost their loved ones and prayed for the souls of those killed.
