JUST IN: ‘Witnesses to testify on MohBad’s death from October 13’ – Court

The Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos State has adjourned the coroner inquest sitting into the death of late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad till October 13.

A court official made this known after preliminary hearing on the matter on Friday.

According to the court official, Friday’s sitting was for the court to decide on the modalities to adopt on MohBad’s matter and assured that witnesses would be called upon in the next adjourned date.

She said, “We just heard a preliminary sitting to discuss the modalities and I am sure you all know that the essence of the coroner is to inquire the cause of death. It is an inquisitorial sitting. What we just had today is to decide on the modalities, how and when; witnesses to bring before before the court.

“In other words, for us to get to the course of justice, we need to know the procedures to take. That is what we just agreed on today and we have fixed the next date, 13th of October.

“We will be bringing our witnesses by God’s grace. We want to assure the public that the course of justice will definitely be decided. On the 13th of October, you will get to know,” she added.

Mohbad died under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Following his death, there have been allegations that he was assaulted by Naira Marley and his crew.

In a viral video, Mohbad’s mother said her son had no rest from the moment singer and rapper, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, came into his life.

Naira Marley is the owner of Marlian Music, the record label that formerly signed the late Mohbad.
