[JUST IN] 2023: APC opens up on screening Jonathan

The Chairman of the presidential Screening Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in respect of the 2023 election, John Odigie-Oyegun, on Friday said that former President Goodluck Jonathan was not part of those screened.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Oyegun while speaking to the press shortly after submitting the report of his committee’s screening of the APC presidential aspirants, said although some groups bought forms for Jonathan, the former Nigerian leader did not complete the form, neither was he interviewed.

This newspaper had reported that the APC Screening Committee today submitted the report of its exercise to the hierarchy of the party.

10 aspirants were disqualified, but their names have not been revealed yet.

The APC sold 28 Nomination and Declaration of Interest forms for the presidential election, with 25 of them filled and returned to the party.

The ruling party’s presidential primary election is slated for June 6-8.
