Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election has said he does not travel overseas for treatment “other than normal medical checkups”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Atiku, 76, who said this during an interview with BBC News Pidgin, published on Tuesday, stated that he is prepared to present his medical records if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) requests for it.`
“I don’t go for any treatment abroad other than normal medical checkup,” Atiku said.
“The only medical problem that I have, if you can recall in 2006, I tripped from staircase and injured my knee and I went to Germany for a treatment, I didn’t have any fracture, I just have what they call a tendon rupture. And then, the tendon was brought back.
“And if the electoral authorities say we should produce our medical report, I am ready to produce my medical report.”
