[JUST IN] 2023: Tinubu meets former APC House of Reps members

Former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, on Friday received the endorsement of the erstwhile House of Representatives (Reps) caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the 2023 presidential poll.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the meeting between the former APC House of Reps members and the 2023 presidential aspirant started at 3pm at Ibeto Hotel, Abuja.

Tinubu, the National Leader of the APC, spoke much about the fact that he was the only politician in the party who had come out in the open, running around to tell everyone that he would contest the presidential election, an indication that he remained the most serious, most qualified, and most prepared to offer service to the nation and Nigerians.

Present at the meeting were former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; Abdulmumin Jibrin, who previously represented Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State; Sunday Adepoju, the lawmaker who used to represent Ibarapa East/Iddo federal constituency of Oyo State, among others.

Recall that in January 2022, Tinubu announced his intention to run for the APC nomination for President of Nigeria in the 2023 presidential election. He is expected to be challenged by Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo; former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, et al.
